Community Foundation of Fort Valley

The Community Foundation of Fort Valley was established in 2002 by a group of citizens interested in encouraging philanthropy and strengthening our community.  While the economy has been tough over the past few years, it reaffirms the belief that creating an endowment fund specifically for Fort Valley is the right thing to do.

The Community Grant Program allows the CFFV board to make grants to organizations in Fort Valley who are addressing the most urgent needs and issues.  CFFV has made grants to organizations such as the Kay Community Service Center, the Boys and Girls Clubs of Georgia Heartlands, Rebuilding Together Fort Valley, Peach Area Habitat for Humanity, Peach County Historical Society and Renovacion Conyugal.

Each year, to build awareness for the Community Foundation of Fort Valley, the board of directors hosts a variety night at the historic Austin Theatre.  In 2010, the event featured the Fort Valley State University Philharmonic Chorale, and the proceeds were split between the Chorale and CFFV's grant program.

Mayor John Stumbo said, "Community Foundation of Fort Valley has been affiliated with CFCG since our Foundation began, and there is no way that we could do it on our own.  The staff of the Community Foundation of Central Georgia provide consultation and financial management, and we have enjoyed a wonderful working relationship with them."

CFFV began by creating an endowment fund specifically for Fort Valley, which ensures that money will be available to keep Fort Valley healthy and thriving for years to come.  As a local center for philanthropy, the Foundation works with individuals, families, corporations, private foundations, and non-profit organizations to carry out their charitable objectives and address emerging community issues.  Our donors make possible the Foundation’s mission to enhance the quality of life for the people of Fort Valley.  For additional information regarding the Community Foundation of Fort Valley, please call 478-750-9338.
