Grants Frequently Asked Questions

How do I access the Online Application?

You will need to apply for a User Name and Password for our website. This process can take up to 2 days to complete. You will not receive an e-mail informing you that your information has been processed, please check back by attempting to log in to the website.

What if I have lost or forgotten my User Name and Password?

If you have lost or forgotten your User Name and Password, please contact the Foundation office at (478) 750-9338. Please do not attempt to create another User Name and Password.

What are the deadlines for the Community Grant Program?

The deadlines are June 30 and December 31 of each year.

How often can I apply for a grant?

You may only apply for a grant once a year. If you receive funding in two consecutive years you must sit out two years. This means if you receive funding in the June 2011 and June 2012 cycles you are not eligible to apply again until June 2014. 

Are there geographic restrictions on the Community Grant program?

Grant applications must have a direct relevance to the Central Georgia region. At donors’ request, most award money is currently restricted to Bibb County. There is limited funding available for other counties in Central Georgia including: Baldwin, Butts, Coffee, Crawford, Houston, Jones, Lamar, Laurens, Monroe, Peach, Spalding, Taylor, Twiggs, Upson, and Wilkinson.

Can I apply for a grant as an individual?

While we have some grant programs, such as the Knight Neighborhood Challenge, that allow individuals to apply the Community Grant program only accepts applications from 501c3 tax-exempt organizations.

Can I mail you the required supporting documents?

No, we do not want anything mailed to the Foundation office. If you have made a mistake and submitted your application without an attachment please contact the Foundation Office at (478) 750-9338 for help. If you submit a paper application it will not come through our database and we are unable to review it. Please submit ALL documents via the online application.

How long does it take to hear back about a grant application?

The Community Foundation has a review process that takes 3 months. You should hear from the Foundation staff approximately 3 months after the deadline date.
